The Rhythm of a Monsoon

In South Asia, monsoons arrive like giants, bringing rivers of rain that transform parched lands into green seas. Their winds, guided by temperature and geography, sustain agriculture, fill reservoirs, and define entire cultures. Poets celebrate them as life-givers; farmers depend on them for survival. I’ve stood in a monsoon downpour, feeling rain pound my shoulders, hearing the earth sigh in relief, and realized: this is nature’s heartbeat, a rhythm of plenty and patience. Monsoons remind us that life cycles in extremes—drought and deluge, scarcity and abundance—and that wisdom lies in trusting the timing of things.
